The evening lecture will be held at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum where students will be exposed to archaeological techniques through case studies of some of the Museums’ recent projects. A behind the scenes tour of the artifact conservation lab will be given with an explanation of current conservation methods presented by a conservation specialist.

The weekend will consist of three to four dives done on one of Lake Champlain’s historic shipwrecks. Proper nautical archaeology techniques will be used to measure, draw, and document the wreck.

Prerequisites: Basic Scuba Diver certification with a minimum of four logged dives in cold water (55-60 degrees).

Equipment requirements: All basic scuba equipment is to be provided by the student including two tanks. Equipment rentals are available at half price through WDC.
