Availability: Contact us for booking information
Cost: $1,000
This course is your first step into true decompression diving. It provides divers with the knowledge and skills to begin planning and executing dives that require periods of planned decompression utilizing variable EANX mixes exceeding EAN40 as decompression gases. The course will cover advanced gas planning and dive planning strategies to include decompression software modeling, planning for missed deco stops and lost gas scenarios, advanced decompression theory, and a deeper understanding of decompression physiology and the risks associated with deeper and longer dives.
The course will involve at least five dives with at least one skills confirmation dive, one planned decompression dive and three dives with profiles that include actual decompression stops. Certification provides clearance to 150 feet, but due to cold water conditions and safety considerations in northern environments, dives will be limited to a maximum depth of 130 feet.
Dates and times: August 11th – 14th 9:00 – 5:00. Additional dates for this course can be arranged by contacting Kreig Pinkham directly.
Course Prerequisites: Master SCUBA Diver; Intro to Tech, at least 50 logged dives with at least 15 logged dives on Nitrox, and a consultation with WDC Technical trainer, Kreig Pinkham. Due to the temperatures at depth in Lake Champlain, drysuit certification and access to a drysuit is an additional course prerequisite. If you have interest in conducting the class in warm waters that would not require a drysuit, you are encouraged to contact Kreig directly.
